An Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) is a comprehensive assessment conducted in-person or virtually. Each assessment is led by a qualified regulated health professional who has not previously been involved in your care, and will not actively be involved in your care afterwards. This is to ensure impartiality in the process. It will include a review of your medical documentation, a clinical interview and examination/testing as required.
When you have an upcoming IME with us, you can ask questions and request clarifications, as your right to be informed is an important part of the IME process. You will be treated with compassion and fairness, as we focus our attention on you.
A final report of the assessor’s findings and medical opinion will be provided to the referral source.
