DFSI has developed a Professional relationship with Dr. Mohammed I. Ranavaya, MD, JD, MS, FRCPI, FFOM, FACPM, FAADEP, CIME who is the President of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) as well as the co-author and editor of the AMA guides. DFSI has partnered with Dr. Ranavaya and the ABIME (www.abime.org) to provide AMA Guides training and certification to over 200 evaluators, administrators and claims managers across Canada.
Dr. Ranavaya, is a Professor of occupational, environmental and Disability medicine at the Marshall University School of Medicine in West Virginia and is Board Certified specialist in occupational and environmental medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert on AMA Guides and has taught globally over ten thousand physicians skills for performing independent medical evaluations and how to be more effective in the use of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. He has authored numerous articles regarding AMA Guides, disability guidelines and independent medical evaluations. Dr. Ranavaya served on the senior editorial advisory committee of the AMA Guides 5th edition and is a contributor to the AMA Guides 5th edition. Dr. Ranavaya currently serves as section editor for the upcoming AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 6th Edition. AMA press has recently published his book “Physicians Guide to Medicolegal-Practice", a practical guide for anyone staring an IME practice.
